Direct Line Van Insurance

Direct Line Van Insurance information

Whilst Direct Line is better known for its personal lines insurance (car, home, pet, travel etc) it has recently branched into the Commercial Lines insurance arena with its Van, Tradesman , Business from home and Landlord insurance offerings to name but a few.

Its Van insurance quote and buy site is shared with its car insurance site so there are no van specific questions however one of the big bonus features of the Direct Line Van Insurance offering is that Class 1 business use is included for free the down side is that, online, you can't buy Class 2 business use (which allows all named drivers to drive the Van for business use) if you need this level of cover you will need to call.

Direct Line do offer some useful offers as part of their Van insurance such as:

Named Driver No Claim Discount (NCD) - basically this means that if you have a named driver on your policy, they will earn the same number of years NCD as the policyholder. This is a really useful feature, particularly if you have a younger named driver as it allows them to earn NCD for their own policy. However the other policy must also be with Direct Line as it cannot be taken to another insurance company.

Matched NCD - this is useful if you have more than one Van as you can match the NCD from your main Van onto your second one, provided that you are the only driver on the second van

Mult- van discount - This is an additional 10% discount on your second and subsequent vans you insure with Direct Line, this is ontop of any other discounts that may apply

Multi-van breakdown discount - if you take out breakdown with Direct Line on more than one van you can earn discounts of up to 35% on the top levels of breakdown insurance.
