Ford Van types

Ford Fiesta Van

Ford Fiesta van

The Ford Fiesta Van is basically the same size as the Fiesta car but with the back seats and windows removed. It is Ford's smallest van offering but doesn't scrimp on practicality or comfort and is ideal for working in towns and getting through traffic.

It has a choice of 2 engine types either a 1.4 Duratorq TDCi (62ps) diesel or a 1.3 Duratec (70ps) petrol engine and both have Ford's Intelligent Protection System, driver and passenger airbags, ABS and immobiliser as standard.

Key features of Fiesta van:

Load length max: 1320mm
Load height max: 957mm
Max payload: 558kg (diesel), 526kg (petrol)

Ford Fiesta Sport Van

Ford Fiesta Sport Van

Ford have recognised that vans don't have to be dull and have pulled out al the stops for van drivers with a passion for their vans by adding a Zetec-S-style body kit and 16" alloy wheels with 195-section tyres to the basic Ford Fiesta van. Whilst not the sort of van that you'd want to drive round building sites more one that you'd want to show off to your mates.

Not only does the van look amazing it doesn't lose any of the Fiesta Van's practicality, it has Ford's 1.6 90PS Duratorq TDCi engine and has Ford's Intelligent Protection System, driver and passenger airbags, ABS and immobiliser.

But the Fiesta SportVan is still a Van - look it has a boot of the same size as the standard Fiesta Van but a slightly lighter maximum payload weight

Key features of Fiesta SportVan:

Load length max: 1320mm
Load height max: 957mm
Max payload: 541kg (diesel)

Ford Transit Connect (SWB and LWB)

Ford Transit Connect Van

The Ford Transit Connect is the smallest of Ford's true vans (as opposed to car-derived vans such as the Fiesta Van). The Ford Transit Connect has been designed for the maximum load capacity by cunningly reducing the wheel arches in the back to allow for wider loads and having fold flat passenger seats to allow for longer loads.

Ford Fiesta Connect wide load space

As well as having the options for high and low roof options there is also the option to have a side sliding door. There is another useful feature where by you can move the eyes of the six lashing points to any of ten holes around the sides of the van to allow the lashing of different sized and shaped loads.

Not only have Ford given loads of options for the back of the van, they have given the Connect award winning security systems to keep your van safe, with a passive anti-theft system, key locking for the bonnet and remote central locking

Load length max: 2467mm (SWB), 2714mm (LWB)
Max payload: 825kg (T220 - SWB), 900kg (LWB)

Ford Torneo Connect van

The "Torneo" range of vans are the passenger versions of the Ford vans with the Connect being the smaller of the two Torneos.

Though the Torneo Connect is designed as a passenger carrying van as it has full sized back seats and sliding doors on both sides and a rear door leading to ample boot space so can be a perfectly acceptable personal car or it is ideally suited for taxi work or dual use business and commercial.

However Ford have stuck to their Van roots and have built the Touneo to have fold flat back seats which are completely removable if required. The one drawback to the Torneo as a work van are the windows which restrict the tie points and the security (as people can obviously see in). However the 5 doors on the van allow for easy access.

Ford Torneo

The Ford Torneo is Ford's offering to the executive group travel vehicle market - with the 9-seat Torneo Trend or the 8-seat Torneo Limited GLX with many luxury features available such as leather seats, bluetooth, Satnav and masses of storage space.

Its huge sliding doors and generous roof height make for easy access for the passengers and front wheel drive, facia-mounted gear stick, Electronic Stability Programme, responsive and economical 2.2 Duratorq TDCi diesel engine.

Ford Ranger
